We began our avicultural adventure in 1997 because of our deep admiration for the
Solomon Island Eclectus Parrot. We hope that our website will tell you a little about ourselves
and the birds who share our lives.
My husband, son and myself live on our farm in SE, Missouri.
We have MANY passions including horses, Border Collies, peacocks, etc.
Our greatest passion is our Solomon Eclectus Parrots.
I stopped working outside the home after years of entertaining a challenging career
in the filtration industry, but once my son was in school, I also needed a challenging career
while being a homemaker.
We fell madly in love with this species of parrot in 1997 when we were first mesmerized by their calm,
gentle nature, their outgoing attitude toward life, and last but certainly not least, their BREATHTAKING
BEAUTY! In my opinion, there is no other species of parrot that can match the good nature and exquisite
beauty of the Eclectus.
We wanted to try our hand at breeding parrots, but could never find the “perfect” fit for our household.
About a day after purchasing our first Eclectus, we knew immediately that THIS was the parrot species
that would fit perfectly in our family, and one of which we would never tire, whether we had one or a
hundred. After considering the breeding of several sub-species of Eclectus, we agreed that in order to
study and learn as much as possible, it would be wise to specialize in only one sub-species. We chose
the Solomon Island sub-species of Eclectus and are happy with our decision.
We were very lucky to find proven breeding birds for sale to begin our quest. In years past, there has
not been a moment that we have regretted our decision to breed these marvelous creatures, which is
the highest tribute we can pay to our birds.
