Our babies are syringe fed from three weeks of age. From the age of five weeks, soft food
is offered three times a day, in addition to the handfed formula. Since our babies are handfed
as long as they will accept it, weaning takes approximately three to four months, depending on
the babies’ refusal of formula as they increase consumption of soft foods on their own.
All of our babies are close banded with AFA logo bands.
The AFA keeps a record of our personal information, which is important, should the bird ever be lost.
We believe that fledging is the most important time of the babies’ life.
All of our babies are allowed to fly and remain flighted until they have mastered their “piloting skills”.
We feel that this training instills the confidence in them to mold their personalities into independent
and secure beings.
